Children can fundraise for Dorset Cancer Care Foundation campaign
There can’t be a better way to keep youngsters occupied during the lockdown.
Local children are being asked to help raise money for a cancer charity that has seen its funding slump during the coronavirus crisis.
Dorset Cancer Care Foundation (DCCF) gives grants to families who are facing hardship because of cancer – help that is required more than ever at the moment.
Its #kids4DCCF invites young people to use their daring, imagination and sense of fun to raise much needed funds.
Already, youngsters have done sponsored trampoline bounces, readathons, footie goal scoring and even loo roll juggling.
Sponsorship forms can be downloaded from the charity’s website.
DCCF chairman Chris Thomas said, “People with cancer are at higher risk from the coronavirus, but our fundraising events have been postponed or cancelled.
“We know that many parents are looking for things to keep their children occupied and we hope they will join our #kids4dccf campaign.
“Children can ask friends and families for sponsorship and the events can be videoed or photographed as proof – and even posted online to inspire others, with the hashtag kids4dccf.
“Sponsorship forms and details can be found on our website. Every penny will be used to help someone.”
Details of the #kids4dccf campaign can be found at https://www.dccf.co.uk/kids4dccf/.
