Christchurch Christmas event reveals December details
The popular Christchurch Living Advent Calendar, which raises money for charity, expects to cross the £100,000 milestone this December.
The updated website for the Christchurch Living Advent Calendar has launched, revealing all the details for the free pop-up music performances happening throughout the festive season.
Organised for the town by Christchurch Rotary Club and supported by Christchurch Town Council and BCP Council, the Christchurch Living Advent Calendar (CLAC) is a fundraising event where 24 musical acts perform at 24 venues across Christchurch on 24 nights of December.
Each performance begins at 6pm, is free to watch and is sponsored by a local business. Donations are encouraged, as proceeds go to a different local charity each evening. It’s a chance to meet up with friends and family for a fun night of entertainment, all while helping a good cause.
First organised in 2021, the CLAC has raised over £83,000 to date, and the organisers expect fundraising this year will bring the total across the £100,000 barrier.
On Monday 6 October, an event was held at Christchurch Sailing Club to mark the official launch of this year’s Christchurch Living Advent Calendar.
In attendance were: the Chairman of BCP Council, Cllr Lesley Dedman; the Mayor of Christchurch, Cllr Vivienne Charrett; the CLAC’s principal sponsors The Primrose Trust; as well as representatives from the various charities, sponsors and venues taking part in this year’s CLAC.
The evening was hosted by Mike Wood, chair of CLAC, and Cress Rolfe, founder of Seajar Digital, who presented the updated website.
The event kicks off on Monday 1 December at The Priory and culminates on Wednesday 24 December at Saxon Square. Full details of all the festive fun can be found in the upcoming programme, produced by Pulford Publicity, or on the CLAC website: https://christchurchlivingadventcalendar.org.uk.
