Christmas events across Dorset and Hampshire
Several towns and village will host Christmas events this weekend to celebrate the start of the festive season.
From tonight, several towns and villages across Dorset and Hampshire will host Christmas events to celebrate the start of December and the festive season.
Starting with tonight, from 5.30pm to 8pm will be the Fordingbridge Christmas Lights Switch On, with late-night shopping, music and stalls.
Saturday 29 November is jam-packed with events.
First there is Christmas in Wimborne, with a Christmas Market opening at 11am, musical performances in the Square from 1pm, and then the town’s lights will be switched on at 5pm.
At the same time is Christmas in Ferndown. Organised by Ferndown & Parley Rotary, the event will feature a Christmas market in Pennys Lodge Car Park on Library Road, featuring market stalls, food stalls, music, entertainment and Santa’s Grotto. The lughts will be switched on by Ferndown’s mayor at 5pm.
Later in the day, from 3pm to 6pm is the Verwood Christmas Lights Switch On, taking place in Ferrett Green.
Then on Sunday 30 November is Ringwood Winter Wanderland, starting at 11.30am. There will be a Christmas market, live stage entertainment, miniature steam train rides, a children’s fair, and street performers. Santa himself will lead a festive parade, leading to the lights being switch on at 6pm.
