Coda Music Trust, a registered charity based in Highcliffe, Christchurch, is holding a free Open Day event on Saturday 24 September from 9.30am-1.30pm to encourage people to try out an instrument or one of the many available courses or groups.
With an emphasis on strings (guitar, ukulele, violin and cello), the open day is for anybody who would like to find out more about Coda and what is offered at the music centre, as well as existing students who may wish to try out something new.
There will be workshops and taster sessions taking place throughout the morning, including:
- Kids’ ukulele band group taster sessions for ages 6 – 11
- Rock & pop school group taster sessions for ages 7 – 13
- Adult beginners ukulele group taster sessions age 14+
Drum, guitar, piano/keyboard, violin, cello and vocal tuition one-to-one taster sessions for all ages
There will be no need to book in advance, just turn up and Coda will slot you into the next available session.
One-to-one instrumental tuition has been shown to have clear benefits over group tuition, as teaching is tailored to the individual’s pace and ability. All of Coda’s tutors are highly experienced and this open day offers the chance to try Coda’s high-quality tuition for free.
The Coda Social Café will be open all morning as a place to relax with a coffee while friends or family try out groups or one-to-one tuition.
Coda will be firing up its brand new Pizza Oven and cooking brunch and lunch pizzas to for those who may wish to stay and soak up the atmosphere over lunchtime.
