Colin's Nest in Poole welcomes the public to warm up
A cafe in Dorset has opened its doors to the public as part of the Warm Hub scheme to help people keep warm this winter during the cost-of-living crisis.
Colin’s Nest in Poole has become a Warm Hub provider which is part of a government scheme rolled out to offer warm and safe spaces for people during the cost-of-living crisis as energy prices continue to rise.
The community-based cafe, which is part of Luxury Care Group, has invited people to make use of its space to keep warm, meet up with friends or loved ones, and access energy information and advice.
Cafe manager Zach Foote has encouraged anyone who feels lonely or worried about rising bills to visit a Warm Hub, particularly over the festive period.
Individuals who work remotely may also use the community cafe for electricity and heating to save costs at home.
Visitors to Colin’s Nest can stay for as long as they like and enjoy a free hot drink. It is open from 8am until 4pm from Monday to Saturday with free parking outside.
Zach said: “With the cost of living continuing to rise, it’s very important that we can offer people within our community a safe environment with heating and refreshments.
“If people are finding it difficult to heat their homes this winter, we may be able to offer some reassurance if they know they can visit us during the day for some warmth and a friendly face.
“We particularly want to encourage people to use our cafe during the festive season. We will be closed on Christmas day and Boxing Day, however, our normal opening times return on 27th December 2022.
“Everyone is welcome and we are looking forward to meeting many more people within the community.”
Colin’s Nest Cafe is situated next to Eagles Mount Green Community residential care home. The cafe is open to both residents and the general public.
