Residents at Colten Care homes in Dorset have celebrated The Queen’s achievement as the longest reigning monarch in British history.
The family owned company, which has 19 homes in Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire, has presented each of its 1,000 residents with a 140-page magazine marking the Queen’s reign.
Starting with The Queen’s coronation in June 1953 and ending with the present day, the limited edition magazine features photographs and stories from the past six decades.
They range from Christmases held at Sandringham to family moments at Buckingham Palace together with set-piece occasions.
The magazine also features a picture of Mary Pyle, a resident at Colten Care’s Avon Reach home in Mudeford, Dorset, as part of a promotional advertisement.
Chris Golding, Colten Care’s Marketing Manager, said: “We felt the magazine was a lovely way of celebrating The Queen’s record-breaking reign as well as her forthcoming 90th birthday.
“The feedback from our residents has been excellent, not least because they recall so many of the events and occasions featured in the magazine.”
The magazine – called ‘Celebrating the reign of our Queen’ – is also available for sale, price £6.99, at WH Smith and other high street outlets.
