Police in Weymouth are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of a missing 63-year-old man from the Radipole area.
Douglas Joyner was last seen at his home along Spa Road at around 1.30pm yesterday, Thursday 31 October 2013. He left the address to go for a walk and was expected to return by about 3pm but has not been seen since.
Mr Joyner has no family or friends in the area and has no access to money.
He is white, six feet two inches tall, has a full grey beard, wears glasses, speaks with an American accent and walks slowly with a hunch. When he was last seen he was wearing a beige jacket, beige trousers and a beige cap.
Inspector Bob Jacobs, of Dorset Police, said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Douglas and are anxious to establish his whereabouts.
“He may become easily disorientated but is very capable of walking long distances and has previously made it all the way to Portesham.
“In the past Douglas had connections with Ibberton near Blandford.
“I urge members of the public in the area to check their gardens and outbuildings.
“I am appealing for anyone with any information to Mr Joyner’s whereabouts to get in touch at the earliest opportunity.”
Anyone with any information should call Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 31:334.
