Following a hearing at Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court today, the leader of Dorset County Council is to stand trial accused of failing to declare interests in two housing companies.
He has denied three charges under the Localism Act 2011 and not guilty pleas were entered on his behalf. He did not attend the hearing.
The 72-year-old Conservative councillor from Verwood, Dorset will attend the same court again on 24 April 2015.
He is accused of failing to disclose he was a non-executive director for Zebra Property Solutions Ltd to East Dorset District Council and to the county council, and failing to disclose an interest in Synergy Housing to the district council.
Since the hearing, Cllr Flower stood down as council leader. His deputy, Cllr Robert Gould has now been elected leader. (3 December).
