Local Celtic folk rock band, ‘Black Water County’ has teamed up with the quality rock band ‘Walk the Night’ to release a cover of the Pogues’s and Kirsty MacColls’s Christmas classic song ‘Fairytale of New York’. 100% of the net download proceeds are being donated to the fantastic charity – John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation.
Since its release the single has created a huge amount of interest. With more than 4000 hits on YouTube and a comment by Julian Clegg after the single was aired on Radio Solent on Monday 10 December, “This is really, really good.”
‘Black Water County’ and ‘Walk the Night’ have created something special. A brilliant cover version of Fairytale of New York which has been described as ‘better than the original.’ 3000 downloads would take this single into the Top 40 and give these fantastic bands the credit they deserve. They all have other commitments but have put hours of effort into producing this great Christmas single – and all for charity.
Available on Amazon and iTunes for just 79p.
