Crafty volunteers for the League of Friends at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital have raised a staggering £26,500 by selling items from the charity’s counter in the hospital.
Over the last year, kind and talented volunteers have knitted, sewed and crafted hundreds of items ranging from baby clothes to quilts and cushions which have been snapped up by customers.
League of Friends Chairman, Rosie Havers, said: “Our wonderful volunteers amaze us by making such truly beautiful items and gifts. Their generosity is a real example of how selfless some individuals are and we are so grateful to them for the donations they make and for the time they give.
“Our volunteers have helped us to fund valuable equipment that has been requested by hospital departments such as a bladder scanner, and patient drug boxes, plus much, much more.”
Open five days a week, the counter is located in the atrium at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital and is manned by volunteers.
