Robert Walter MP is urging constituents to vote for the Boveridge School Trust in the People’s Millions public vote.
The Boveridge School Trust, based in Cranborne, has obtained a place on the People’s Millions Shortlist for the Meridian West Area. The People’s Millions gives the public the chance to vote for community projects they want to receive funding. These projects must aim to inspire, improve and involve their local community.
Since the scheme started a total of 523 awards have been made with a total of over £27.8 million being distributed. To obtain funding, each night from 25th-27th November, two projects will go head-to-head to make a bid for viewers support. The winner receives one of three regional awards of up to £50,000.
The Boveridge House Trust had been recognised for its DIG-IT programme, which will create a horticultural service where students can develop their gardening skills and business acumen in order to develop lifelong skills they can make use of when they leave Boveridge House. The project will involve students providing an affordable gardening service to the local community.
The Boveridge School Trust’s DIG-IT proposal will go head to head to head against the Love2Grow; Love2Cook scheme on 27th November to bid for viewers’ support. A short film about the Trust and the DIG-IT programme will be broadcast on ITV.
Mr Walter urges constituents to show their support for Boveridge School Trust by voting for them in the public phone vote which runs from 9am – Midnight on the 27th. The voting numbers will be published online and in the Mirror newspaper.
