Weymouth police are appealing for help after criminal damage was caused to a fishing boat.
The incident happened some time between 8.30pm on Sunday 3 August and 7.50am Monday 4 August when the boat was moored in the harbour opposite the multi-storey car park on Commercial Road.
The boat was found to have two holes drilled under the engine, one on the stern and the fuel cap had been interfered with.
PC Stan Knight said: “This is an unusual crime and the damage made to the boat was very dangerous and could have caused serious injury to anyone who sailed in her.
“I am interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity around Commercial Road harbour side.
“All calls will be treated with the strictest confidence.”
