Cyclist seriously injured in Christchurch

A cyclist in his 60s has sustained life changing injuries following an accident in Christchurch.
At 5.50pm on Thursday 7 July Dorset Police received a report of a collision at the Purewell Roundabout involving a white Vauxhall Corsa and a cyclist.
Officers attended, along with the ambulance service, and the cyclist was taken to Poole Hospital. Initial indications were that his injuries were not believed to be serious, however, subsequently this has turned out not to be so.
Sergeant Geraint Butler, of the traffic unit, said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident who has not already spoken to police.
“I would also urge anyone who was driving in the area around the time of the collision to please check any dashcam footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.”
