Autumn is just around the corner, and what better way to warm yourself to the tips of your toes than to take a spin on the dance floor?
Borough of Poole Arts Service, in association with BSO Boost and Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts, is inviting people of all ages to join them for an autumn tea dance.
Come along and enjoy the fun in a warm, friendly environment as a trio of musicians perform a huge variety of dance floor classics. Everyone can enjoy two hours of Sinatra, Gershwin, Mancini and more. Why not waltz, tango or Jive the afternoon away accompanied by a cup of tea or two!
Whether you like to dance, listen to the music, or would just like to make new friends, everyone is welcome.
“Tea Dances are a great way to meet new people, keep fit and have fun,” said Anna Shiels of Poole Arts Service, “and there’s no need to worry about not having a partner or whether you can dance, our team of staff and volunteers will make sure that everyone is made to feel welcome.”
Cllr Xena Dion, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for a Prosperous and Sustainable Poole, Borough of Poole, said, “Ballroom dance is popular with people of all ages and abilities. Poole’s tea dances are one of our many cultural opportunities that can help Poole residents stay healthy, fit and active.”
Tickets cost £5.50 (Access to Leisure cardholders £4.50; free for accompanying carers) and are available in advance from Lighthouse on 0844 406 8666 www.lighthousepoole.co.uk Ticket price includes tea and biscuits.
