Diverse Abilities Plus, Dorset’s disability charity, is looking for dare devil participants to take part in the Mayor’s Charity Appeal Fund Fire Walk event on Sunday 3 November, at the Miramar Hotel, Bournemouth at 3pm, sponsored by LV=.
This once in a lifetime experience can be undertaken by anyone aged between eight and 80 years of age, therefore one and all can sign up and take on the challenge of walking over red hot coals, measuring 600oC. Expert training is given prior to the event with Scott Bell, a Guinness World Record holder.
Other charities, supported this year by the Mayor’s Charity Appeal Fund, and benefiting from the event are BCHA, Coda Fiddle Orchestra, Kitty’s Wish Foundation, The Steve Bernard Foundation Ltd and The Wessex Cancer Trust.
Helen Mortimer, Fundraising Manager at Diverse Abilities Plus, said: “This is a great opportunity to take on a totally different challenge in aid of six local charities, supported by the Mayor’s Charity Fund. We are urging local people to get involved and take the heat to raise money for all six fantastic charities.”
