Daylight robbery attempt in Bournemouth
Two men tried to steal a watch from a man in 70s on the streets of Bournemouth; police are seeking witnesses.
Two men attempted daylight robbery on the streets of Bournemouth on Thursday 29 August in the afternoon around 3pm.
The pair attempted to take a watch from the wrist of the victim – a man aged in his 70s – who was walking in Grove Road.
When the victim cried out for help, the robbers ran across St Peter’s Roundabout and down St Peter’s Road.
Police received a report of the incident at 3.20pm. They are now investigating the attempted robbery and are asking for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
The offenders were described as ‘five feet eleven inches tall and of North African appearance’. One of the men was wearing a white beanie hat with ‘LV’ written across it and he had no teeth.
Police Constable Zachary Dredge, of Bournemouth police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and I am keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone with information regarding the offenders.
“I would also urge residents or motorists who were in the vicinity to please review any home CCTV, doorbell camera or dashcam footage around the relevant timeframe to see if they have captured anything that might assist our investigation.”
