Four large, bronze, deer statues have disappeared from the rear garden of a house in Thornicombe, Blandford.
They were stolen sometime between 5pm on Tuesday 29 October and 8am on Wednesday 30 October from a property on Thornicombe Hill.
Those responsible made off with two deer statues five and four feet in height, along with two one-foot bronze fawns.
Andy Woodford of the Dorset Police Crime Management Unit said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have seen this theft take place, or saw any suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident to contact Dorset Police in confidence.
“It is possible someone may have seen the offenders loading these items onto a vehicle and these details could help us identify those responsible.”
The owner has been left extremely upset. Witnesses or anyone who can help reunite the owner with the deer should contact Dorset Police on 101 quoting crime number C:13:C:45526. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
