Royal Bournemouth Hospital (RBH) employee and Deputy Mayor, Councillor Phil Stanley-Watts, has been spending months eating hospital food in preparation for Bournemouth’s first marathon this Sunday.
Phil is positive that wholesome hospital food will buoy him in the challenge and so, ahead of the 26.2 mile run, he has eaten breakfast and lunch in the RBH restaurant.
He said: “When undertaking an event such as the Bournemouth Marathon it is vital to train well in advance as well as eat nutritious foods rich in protein to build stamina.
“RBH offers a variety of wholesome foods which I hope will benefit me taking part in the event.”
Phil will join 4,000 other participants in this weekend’s marathon. He aims to finish in three hours and has been training meticulously through long distance running once a week as well as daily sprints.
