Detectives in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward following a robbery in the town.
Officers were called this morning at 11.07am, (Wednesday 20 January), following reports that a security officer had been robbed outside Natwest Bank in Castlepoint.
It is believed two offenders stole an empty cash box. The box was later found discarded nearby. No weapon was used.
One security officer – a man aged in his 30s – sustained a minor arm injury. He did not require hospital treatment.
An investigation is now underway.
Detective Sergeant Ian Allen, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We are aware that there were a number of people who were in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident. I would urge these members of the public to please call me on 101.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who saw two men acting suspiciously in the Castle Lane West area.”
No arrests have been made.
