Verwood Freeman, Mrs Pam Reeks BEM, and Mr Ron Reeks celebrated their diamond wedding at a tea party in the Verwood Heathland Heritage Centre on Friday.
Family and friends gathered with them to enjoy tea and to hear an amusing tribute to Pam and Ron from their best man, cousin Ray Reeks. To cut the celebration cake, Pam and Ron used the knife which was a wedding present to them and is still, with its board, in regular use. The celebration cake was decorated with photos of Ron and Pam. It also had symbols of their many interests including Ron’s vintage cars and Pam’s cornet. One corner showed Pam’s BEM, awarded for services to the community in 2014.
Ron and Pam requested no presents and invited donations to Julia’s House and were thrilled with the sum raised. Family celebrations continued during the weekend.
