Police investigating a serious injury collision in Poole are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.
At approximately 5.30pm on Monday 23 March, a collision took place between a blue Volkswagen Passat, registered to a man from Wareham, and a bicycle on the Kingland Road roundabout just before the Seldown Bridge.
The cyclist, a 59-year-old local woman, was knocked off her bike and sustained what was described at the time as slight injuries. She later discovered she had suffered serious leg fractures.
The driver of the Passat immediately stopped at the scene, administered first aid and drove the cyclist to hospital.
Police Constable Tim Brehmer, of Dorset Police’s Traffic Unit, said: “There are no questions over the behaviour of the Passat driver after the incident as we know he stopped at the scene and assisted the cyclist at great length.
“As part of my investigation, I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or the manner of driving or riding of the car or bicycle prior to the incident. I have released a photograph of the bicycle to jog people’s memories.”
