Discovering the dark side of Bournemouth
A historic murder, a First World War shipwreck and a 1940s air crash were just some of the stories related by Hattie Miles.
A guided history walk in Bournemouth took a group of the Wimborne-based East Dorset Heritage Trust members on a tour of ‘The Darker Side of the East Cliff’. The circular walk with guide Hattie Miles, from Hotel Miramar, told the story of an historic murder, a First World War shipwreck, a 1940s air crash, a ghost story and more. The weather was perfect and there were clear views across Poole Bay to enjoy while strolling along.
This walk, originally planned for spring 2020 but postponed because of Covid-19 restrictions, is the second EDHT group to do this particular route.
Hattie said: “What a lovely group to take out. It was thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you everyone who came and Hotel Miramar for being such a good starting point and looking after everyone so well.”
