Diverse Abilities cashless collection pot options
Dorset’s disability charity, Diverse Abilities, has launched cashless options for its collection pots amid a year when fundraising revenue is down.
The collection pots now each feature their own personal QR codes and text codes to enable customers to donate without the need for physical cash. Each pot also has its own poster that can be displayed instead, if counter space is tight with screens in place.
Collection pots can typically hold around £45 – income that makes a big difference to smaller local charities.
“Prior to the pandemic, we saw a decline in cash donations, so this has really given us a kick to look at other ways of connecting with supporters old and new,” said Emma Bovey, fundraising manager at Diverse Abilities. “Most smart phones now have a QR code reader built into their cameras, the ones on our pots will direct you to a JustGiving page, and the text donation option is so simple but effective.”
Businesses interested in their own cashless collection pots can contact fundraising@diverseabilities.org.uk for more details.
