Diverse Abilities launches online auction to raise funds
An online auction has been launched to raise vital funds for Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s disability charity, which supports children and adults with disabilities across the county.
The auction aims to raise more than £5,000 with lots including a Brompton bicycle, virtual cocktail tasting masterclass with Dark Bear, 2021 Monaco Grand Prix superyacht experience for two, a diamond necklace from Franses Jewellers, a 100% cashmere stole from Cocowai Cashmere, and a giant plush unicorn.
Events manager, Karen Hay, said, “We are so pleased with all the different lots available in our auction, there really is something for everyone and for a whole variety of budgets. This year has been anything but ordinary. We tried our best to deliver an event in place of our annual Gala Ball, called Come Dine With Us, but given the current restrictions we’ve unfortunately cancelled the dining element of the event, but we have decided to open the exclusive auction up to everyone.
“We would also like to extend our appreciation to everyone that has donated a prize into the auction, we are so thankful for the ongoing support of our community, as it all helps for us to continue providing vital care to those who need us most in our community.”
Bidders can also purchase a month’s supply of Purbeck Ice Cream, or donate to the charity to help provide specialist equipment and festive activities this Christmas under the auction platform’s ‘Special Items’ section.
To view the lots available, go to www.diverseabilities.auction. Bidding closes on Saturday 28 November at 10pm.
