For one day only, Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s disability charity, is celebrating its 60th birthday on 12 June in a town near you!
The charity is inviting the local community to come and say hello, find out what the charity does and make a donation to help reach its £600,000 target during its diamond anniversary year.
Over 50 people connected to the charity will be out in force throughout the whole of Dorset to celebrate what Diverse Abilities has achieved over the past six decades and inform the local community about the services the charity runs supporting over 600 children and adults with disabilities in Dorset, plus their families.
Helen Mortimer, Fundraising Manager at Diverse Abilities, said: “We are very excited about our birthday celebration day. We are looking forward to getting the whole of Dorset involved and spreading the Diverse Abilities love across the county. We’d love to meet as many people as possible and tell them all about what we do and how they can be part of the charity’s future by simply donating on the day, getting involved with our events or even working with us.”
During the celebration day Diverse Abilities staff, volunteers and people the charity supports will be located all around Dorset along the main shopping high streets. Areas will include Bournemouth, Westbourne, Charminster, Boscombe, Southbourne, Winton, Christchurch, Verwood, West Moors, Blandford Forum, Wareham, Poole (the high street, Falkland Square and Poole Quay), Ashley Cross, Broadstone and at Waitrose in Wimborne
Helen added: “There will be a few treats in store for those who do choose to celebrate the birthday with the charity during the day, so be sure to come and see us and don’t miss out.”
