The Djembe Drum Band from Bournemouth’s Bishop Of Winchester Academy’s played in the gardens of Wolvesey Palace, the official residence of the Bishop of Winchester where clergy and readers from the Diocese were invited to an informal supper by the Rt Rev Tim Dakin.
The Bishop thanked the students for giving their time to come to Wolvesey: “It was a joy to see and hear this enthusiastic group of young people giving such a professional and uplifting performance. The evening was the first event in our 2014 marquee season and we couldn’t have wished for a better start. The performances were much appreciated and commented on by all present. The students are an inspiration to The Bishop of Winchester Academy and I am proud that the Diocese of Winchester and the Academy have a very special relationship.”
