Police in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a man was seriously assaulted in the centre of the town – with officers releasing two images of two men they would like to speak with.
The incident happened at around 3am on Saturday 27 April outside Tesco Express on Holdenhurst Road.
The victim, a man aged in his fifties visiting from Poland, attempted to help two young women who were being attacked by two men when they turned on him punching and kicking to the ground.
He suffered multiple fractures to his cheek as a result.
Detective Constable Alan Marks, of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said: “The victim has been brutally attacked by two men while attempting to help two women.
“As a result of his willingness to try and break up the initial fight, he has been viciously attacked himself and received serious facial injuries.
“Following extensive enquiries, I am now able to release two CCTV images of two men I would like to speak with.
“I would urge anyone with information about the assault or anyone who may have details about those responsible to contact us in confidence.”
No arrests have been made.
