Dorset charity foundation in search of new trustees
Dorset Community Foundation is looking for members who want to give back to the local area to join its board of trustees.
A Dorset foundation that supports charities, community groups and individuals across the county with funding and grants is looking for new people who want to give back to the local area to join its board of trustees.
Dorset Community Foundation (DCF) is hoping to recruit people with lived experience of working with grassroots charities and voluntary groups, or of being helped by them.
It is also looking for people with financial investment experience.
DCF works with individual private donors, trusts and public bodies to connect them to the hundreds of small community groups working across Dorset.
Trustees are responsible for guiding the community foundation by setting its strategy, making sure it complies with charity and financial rules, promoting its growth and ensuring it is financially secure.
Chair Tom Flood CBE said: “We’d like to see younger people applying, as well as applicants from some of the communities we fund, because we’d like to benefit from the experience of people who have an understanding of the problems those communities face.
“We know there are people out there who want to give something back and have skills they can offer.
“They need to be passionate about Dorset and supporting the work of the voluntary sector.”
