Dorset Police campaign to combat romance fraud
This Valentine’s Day 14 February, people are urged to get a free pack giving them advice on online dating safety.
Sadly, romance fraud has become all too prevalent. To combat this, Dorset Police are highlighting Valentine’s Day with the campaign ‘Big Night In’.
The Force believes that empowering communities to identify and disrupt romance fraud at the point of contact is the key to making Dorset a safer place – and an example for the rest of the UK.
The ‘Dorset’s Big Night In’ free pack offers practical tips for safe dating and information on reporting fraud and sextortion.
The campaign calls on residents across the county to come together on Friday 14 February in homes, clubs, and community venues to learn about online dating safety, support each other, and take a stand against romance fraud.
