Dorset Police recognises long service and good conduct
At an awards ceremony held at Dorset Museum on 16 June, Dorset Police recognised its officers and staff for their long service and good conduct.
The event acknowledged their incredible contribution to policing over many years and celebrated their conduct and commitment to public service.
“I am incredibly proud of the dedication and professionalism of our officers and staff,” said chief constable Scott Chilton. “It is really important that we recognise their contribution to policing and public service, and it is a real honour to lead such a fantastic police force.”
PC Chris Smith, who retired in April after 30 years’ service was also awarded a Certificate of Service. He joined Dorset Police in 1992 as a patrol officer in Bournemouth. Throughout his career, PC Smith has been recognised for outstanding work and contributions to policing and the public, receiving Divisional Commanders Commendations for securing a sentence for a drug trafficker and another for saving a man’s life. Chris also worked within the Police Command Team for the Home Office UK Border Agency, where he was recognised for his outstanding contribution to a successful partnership.
Scott Chilton said: “All those recognised continuously go above and beyond the call of duty to relentlessly pursue criminals and keep the public safe. The commitment demonstrated throughout the careers of all those acknowledged is outstanding.
“I was delighted to share this moment with those honoured at the awards ceremony and their family and friends.”
