Dorset residents living with diabetes invited to Dorset health forum
The Diabetic Eye Screening Service User Forum, for people living with or caring for people with diabetes in Dorset, will take place on 26 April.
Dorset residents who live with or care for people with diabetes are invited to an upcoming health forum to share their views and experiences of living with the condition.
The Diabetic Eye Screening Service User Forum will take place on 26 April from 12noon to 1pm.
Organised by the NHS-run Dorset Diabetic Eye Screening Programme, the aim of the forum is to bring service users together to have their say and express their thoughts on how to improve the experience for people who need to use the service in Dorset.
Attendees will be given a presentation introducing the Dorset Diabetic Eye Screening Programme and useful information and updates on eye screening. They can then take part in an open discussion where they can ask questions, talk amongst themselves and offer their opinions on areas they feel could be improved.
Jonas Kew, communications and engagement officer for the programme, said: “We want to offer those who interact with our service the opportunity to have their say, and offer a space in which they can directly speak with us, express their thoughts and be a voice for those attending diabetic eye screening appointments.”
This is the second forum organised by the programme, following a similar forum last summer.
Anybody can take part in the forum, whether they have diabetes, care for somebody with diabetes, know somebody who attends eye screening, are at risk of diabetes, or would like to learn more about screening. To join, fill in a Google form to receive an invite: https://forms.office.com/e/p6p6RpHmcx.
