An annual conference committed to strengthening the tech industry in Dorset was held on Friday inside the Vitality Stadium.

Report by Luke Graham
Over 100 business leaders, innovators, academics and tech professionals gathered in Dorset to connect, share ideas and learn at the Re:Connect 2025 conference on Friday 4 July.
Held inside Vitality Stadium, home of AFC Bournemouth, the event was organised by Reconnect Events CIC with support from Dorset Chamber.
Among the day’s speakers and workshops were a keynote speech by thought leader Kevlin Henney, a behind-the-scenes talk from game developer Steve Cuss, and tips for acing a job interview from the founders of Equal IT. Other major topics were mental wellbeing, software development and artificial intelligence.
Police officers from the South West Regional Crime Unit invited attendees to complete a 30-minute escape the room game designed to teach the basics of good cybersecurity (I managed to solve the game in 26:45, which seemed like a good time except another team completed the game in 23 minutes).
Organiser Seemin Suleri (who is also the VP of engineering for Prima Assucuriazioni) said the day was “absolutely amazing”. She added: “It’s a privilege for us to host everyone and we’ve mobilised the community.”
Suleri also said that Dorset’s tech sector needs more support. “I quite like the idea that there are so many amazing startups here. What I think definitely needs more attention is for us to be able to communicate more about it and say more things about what happens here.
“In Dorset, what tends to happen is we do have all those things here, it’s just there is no showcase. That’s the idea of Re:Connect, to showcase all the businesses and talent that is here.”
Re:Connect 2026 will be held on 10 July next year. Tickets can be booked here: https://reconnectconference.co.uk.
