Dorset tips to close for two days in October

If you’re planning to visit Wimborne’s household recycling centre during October, you need to be aware that it will be closed on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 October.

It is one of eight sites in the county that will be shut for two days to allow deep cleaning to take place.

Residents will be able to use any other Dorset Council recycling centre as an alternative during these closures or keep hold of their waste until their local site reopens.

Dorset Council says it apologises for any inconvenience and thanks residents for their understanding while this essential work is completed.

The other closures are:

• Sherborne – Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 October
• Shaftesbury – Thursday 9 and Friday 10 October
• Wareham – Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 October
• Swanage – Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 October
• Blandford – Thursday 23 and Friday 24 October
• Bridport – Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 October
• Portland – Thursday 30 and Friday 31 October.
