Trampolinists from Spirals Trampoline Club in Dorset had huge success at the Trampoline and Tumbling NDP Finals last weekend.
Three of Spirals Trampoline Club’s 12-member squad came away with medals after competing in the Trampoline and Tumbling NDP Finals at Telford International Arena last weekend.
Emily Pye took gold and was named national champion in the women’s Level 7, age 15-16 group; Malachai Epapara won the silver medal, finishing just 0.1 marks behind the winner in the men’s Level 2 age 9-10 category; and, Oliver Richardson came third, taking the bronze medal in the Level 2, men’s 13+ group.
Coach Jane Mobey says, “I couldn’t be more proud of the achievements of our trampolinists. We have a relatively small, family-orientated club, but that hasn’t stopped us having some brilliant results this season. Only five of our squad members competed this year – three of those made the regional team, and all three qualified for national finals. It’s amazing that all came away with medals at such a prestigious event.
“It is particularly exciting for Emily to be named national champion – this has given her the chance to showcase her talent and achieve what I always knew she was capable of. And it’s been a spectacular season for Ollie and Malachai. Both have only started competing in the past year, so to just make the regional team was a huge achievement. To then qualify for, and medal, at the national finals was absolutely fantastic! I am one ecstatic coach, and we’re looking forward to celebrating with the rest of the club at our next training session.”
Spirals Trampoline Club trains at QE Leisure Centre on Monday evenings and Ferndown Leisure Centre on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings and is currently taking new members.
