Dorset Youth County Cup finals

Celebrating the best of Dorset football, The Dorset Youth County Cup finals were held on St George’s Day on King George V Playing Field in Ferndown.
The Dorset Youth County Cup finals celebrated the best of Dorset football with 14 teams entertaining large crowds in the spring sunshine. Held on St George’s Day on King George V Playing Field in Ferndown matches kicked off at 10.30am and continued throughout the day.
Results:
Val Newbury U11 trophy – Dorchester Town Youth beat Sturminster Marshall 2-1.
Braytown Cup U13 – Gillingham Town took the cup back to North Dorset beating Poole Town FC Wessex 3-0.
U15 final – highest scorers on the day were Weymouth FC Youth with a 5-1 win over Merley Cobham Sports Youth, a brace from Bailey Rowe and singles from Harry Hutchinson, John Pritchard and Josh Howell made up the Weymouth score with Aaron Drew replying for Merley.
Lytchett & Upton Red Triangle United beat Poole Town FC Wessex with the only goal of the game coming from William Goss.
Portland United Youth beat Bridport Youth 3-0, Nate Kelly scoring before half time and a brace from Brinley Doyle after the break enough to beat the spirited Junior Bees.
Both the U14 and U16 finals went to extra time. The U14 final was so tight it went to penalty kicks with neither Weymouth FC Youth or Branksome United able to break the deadlock after 110 minutes, Branksome United secured the Puley Cup winning 5-4 from the penalty kicks. Kobi Joyce saving Weymouth’s fourth spot kick.
Rossgarth Youth won a very exciting Under 16 Final, beating Poole Town FC Wessex 3-2. Rosgarth took an early lead through Isaac Thomas, Poole Town FC Wessex pressed hard for an equaliser but had to wait until the dying seconds of normal time when a goal from Tyrese Bostock took the match to extra time. Bostock then put the Junior Dolphins in to the lead in the first period of extra time only for further Rossgarth goals from county player Dan Hunt and a penalty from Robert Howarth to secure the Trophy.
