Dragon Boat team’s 27-mile marathon this weekend
Starting at 9am at Hengistbury Head Outdoor Centre, the Pink Champagne Breast Cancer Survivors Dragon Boat Team will head towards Iford.
People are invited to show their support for the Pink Champagne Breast Cancer Survivors Dragon Boat Team who are taking part in a 27-mile Marathon Moon Paddle this Saturday 14 May.
Covid has meant the team have not been able to hold their annual fund raising festival for the last two years so hope to raise money from this paddle to help with the ongoing costs of keeping the team afloat.
Due to tides on the River Stour the team, who are based at Hengistbury Head, will start their paddle at 9am and aim to finish around 7pm.
They will start from the Hengistbury Head Outdoor Centre and head towards Christchurch and Iford, the distance will be completed in six-mile relays back to Hengistbury Head.
There will be a Pink Champagne stall at Christchurch Quay throughout the day where you can find out more about them and make a donation.
The team should be easy to spot with their pink dragon boat and kit, as well as sporting decorated bras over their buoyancy aids. Listen out for the drum on the boat.
You can support the team by giving them a cheer and a wave if you see them out on the day and if you would like to donate to the team you can do so through their website, www.pinkchampagne.org.uk. Or direct on this link https://wonderful.co.uk/pay?ref=1172801
