Drewitt Group employee, Dorothy (Dotty) Husher is preparing to take on her next energetic trial and complete the 5K Race For Life in Bournemouth on Sunday June 12.
Working as an administrator at The Drewitt Group, Dotty is a regular at taking part in challenges for charity and has completed an abseil down the Tower Park water tower as well as other Race For Life events in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Originally from Belize in Central America, Dotty lives in Poole and is currently training hard for her next running event. She is using a training plan app which offers a mix of running and yoga to increase her speed and stamina leading up to the race, and her puppy, Harry, also joins her on adapted walks with a fully adjustable lead. Cancer Research UK is a charity close to Dottie’s heart as sadly her father passed away with lung cancer, and by competing in Bournemouth’s Race For Life she aims to raise £1,000 to help the charity with its research into all 200 types of cancer.
Dotty says: “I thoroughly enjoy taking part in challenges for charity and I’m looking forward to my next Race For Life event.”
Gillian Drewitt, joint managing director at Drewitts adds: “We are delighted to support Dotty. We think she is extremely brave in taking on these charity challenges and we wish her the best of luck. She’s doing it for a fantastic cause and we hope she reaches her target goal.”
