E-scooter rider dies in Bournemouth collision
The collision happened on 5 January opposite the Popworld nightclub in Old Christchurch Road, and the man in his 20s died on 12 January.
Following the death of an electric scooter rider in Old Christchurch Road, Dorset Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses.
They received a report at 1.55am on Monday 5 January 2026 of a collision involving an electric scooter opposite the Popworld nightclub.
The rider of the scooter, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment for serious injuries. Very sadly, he died in hospital on the afternoon of Monday 12 January. His family have been informed.
The pillion passenger on the electric scooter, a man in his 30s, sustained minor injuries in the collision.
Sergeant Mike Burt, of the Serious Collision Investigation Team, said: “Our thoughts are very much with the family and loved ones of the young man who sadly died following this incident.
“We are continuing to conduct enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision, and I would urge any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to please make contact with us.”
