Easter fun at Sandbanks care home
Children from Kidscape’s Poole and residents of Marjorie House joined forces to paint plant pots to decorate rooms.

The rooms of residents at a care home in Sandbanks had an Easter theme this year.
Children from Kidscape’s Poole, which is based at Livingstone Primary School, joined residents of Care South’s Marjorie House to paint plant pots for their rooms.
The children were then able to take part in an Easter egg hunt complete with an Easter bunny.
Residents were delighted. Joyce said: “It was marvellous. I think it was wonderful, and they all did very well. The children created a happy atmosphere.”
Another resident, Cyril, said: “They all did a good job to paint the plant pots. It was nice to have them here.”
Myrna said: “It was wonderful for us and good for the children too. It was a long time since we all had our children, so it was nice to be around kids again.”
Dolly Senior, who runs Kidscape, said: “The children had a wonderful time connecting with the residents while chatting about their Easter plans. It’s really important for the children to experience intergenerational relationships and share stories about their common interests. It was a joy to see the children show kindness and have fun with the Marjorie House residents.”
Georgie Powell, home manager, said: “Our residents had a lovely time with the children from Kidscape who helped them to celebrate this special time of year. It was so nice to see the children laughing, dancing and getting creative with our residents. We are already looking forward to welcoming them again.”
