Egg-stra special Easter in Ferndown care home
Ferndown Manor residents and Parley First School children took part in an Easter egg hunt at the Golf Links Road care home.

It was excitement for both school children and care home residents recently with a fun Easter egg hunt.
Care UK’s Ferndown Manor welcomed pupils from Parley First School to its premises in Golf Links Road.
The children and residents were given special Easter baskets and enjoyed seeking out dozens of sweet treats, which were waiting to be discovered in a number of secret hiding places around the home and in the garden.
As a bonus, the children all received their own full-sized Easter egg from Ferndown Manor to take home with them.
Resident Patricia O Riordan, 91, said: “It was very refreshing to meet the children, we had great fun. Children are just wonderful.
“I can’t remember if we had Easter egg hunts when I was younger, it was so long ago! But we most certainly should have.”
Angela Connor, activities co-ordinator said: “What a fun-packed Easter! We’re always keen to create meaningful connections with the local community and residents here at Ferndown Manor and have seen wonderful friendships blossoming across the generations with Parley First School pupils.
“Our Easter egg hunt provided an enriching and exciting experience for both residents and pupils. Intergenerational relationships have many benefits for older people, from offering an increased sense of purpose, to providing an opportunity to reminisce about their younger years.
“Everyone enjoyed their time hunting around the home for the hidden chocolate and we’d like to thank the youngsters for taking part. We hope they had fun and enjoy their sweet treats over the Easter break – they’ve earned them.”
