Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a car was stolen during a burglary in Merley.
Between 4am and 6am on Tuesday 2 February, offenders gained access to a property in Huntingdon Drive while the elderly occupants were asleep.
They carried out a search of the kitchen and lounge before leaving the property with a laptop, wallet and car keys.
The offenders then left the scene in the couple’s silver Peugeot 3008.
The contents of the wallet were found at the junction of Merley Lane and Gravel Hill by a dog walker.
Police Constable Luke Davis, of Poole police, said: “This was obviously an upsetting experience for the elderly occupants who were targeted in the very place they should feel safe. I would urge anyone with any information about who was responsible to please call me on 101.
“I believe some degree of planning was involved in this offence and I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area of Huntingdon Drive in the days before the incident.”
Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police on 101 quoting incident number 2:47. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
