Elizabethan drama raises over £1,500 at Hale Park
Enjoyed by over 100 guests, a sell-out Elizabethan evening picnic at Hale Park in Hampshire raised over £1,500 for church funds.
People in the Fordingbridge area travelled back to the 16th century for a spectacular sell-out Elizabethan evening picnic at Hale Park and raised more than £1,500 towards the upkeep of Avon Valley Churches and the Hale and Woodgreen Churches.
Guests were serenaded by Renaissance recorders, lute, tambour, pipe players and madrigals. They also enjoyed a mock trial with interactive elements of Dr Faustus, Christopher Marlowe’s play.
Avon Valley Churches would like to congratulate organiser Lynda Warne and all involved, with special thanks to Sloan Hickman for the use of the picturesque Hale Park grounds and to Dr Paul Borrelli and his team of talented performers.
Avon Valley Churches includes the parishes of Fordingbridge with Sandleheath and Godshill, Hyde, Breamore, and Hale and Woodgreen.
