Elves move into museum in Wimborne
Families are invited to follow a trail to find elves and enjoy crafts at the Museum of East Dorset during December.
Elf on a Shelf has become a family tradition in recent years following the publication of a book published in 2005, and now local people can enjoy the mischief and magic in Wimborne Minster.
The Elf on the Shelf Trail is taking place at the Museum of East Dorset from Monday 1 December.
The museum galleries will be sprinkled with elf-sized surprises. These naughty little visitors have taken up residence in the most unexpected places — and they’re up to no good! Families are challenged to spot the elves, follow their trail and uncover their playful antics as they explore the museum.
Alongside the trail, there are free festive crafts to ignite creativity and add a dash of seasonal sparkle. Whether it’s glitter, glue, or giggles, there’s something for every little elf-in-training.
And if you’re feeling fancy, the museum’s popular dressing-up corner is bursting with seasonal costumes for children to dive into. Snap a photo of your little ones in their jolly get-up and share your elf-tastic adventures on the museum social media channels.
The trail is free with museum entry, which entitles visitors to an annual pass valid for 12 months from date of issue so they can visit multiple times.
