Enter now to take part in Poole in Bloom
Green-fingered residents of Poole are encouraged to enter Poole in Bloom and celebrate their contributions to making Poole a beautiful place to live.
The Poole in Bloom competition has a number of classes open for submission. Residents are able to enter as many classes as they wish.
The following classes are open to residential entries:
- Hanging basket(s) and/or window boxes
- Front patio (must be at ground level) and/or container garden
- Balcony display (must not be ground level)
- Communal grounds – blocks of flats etc.
- Mobile homes (private gardens only)
- Small front garden not exceeding 100m²
- Large front garden larger than 100m²
- Back garden not exceeding 100m²
- Back garden larger than 100m²
The classes for commercial and public area entries are:
- Commercial small public spaces – arcades, libraries, shopping centres, bars, inns, public houses, cafés etc
- Commercial large public spaces – arcades, libraries, shopping centres, bars, inns, public houses, cafés etc
- Loving care homes, nursing/rest Homes
- Colleges and places of learning
- Bowling clubs and sports facilities
- Places of worship
- Commercial baskets/containers
- Small hotel/B&B under 20 beds
- Large hotel 20 or more beds
In addition, there are combined classes open to both residential, commercial and public entries. These are:
- Special trees – please take seasonal photos for judging in this class
- Small ornamental and/or flowering tree
- Tree contributing to biodiversity – good for bees or provider of habitat of food source for bats, birds or mammals
- Champion tree – notable for its sheer size, age or heritage value, or an example of an uncommon species
- Environmentally friendly spaces
- Sensory gardens – gardens created which are accessible and encompass the five senses – sight, hearing, touch, smell, taste
Entries must be received by 28 August, by post or email. A photograph in landscape format taken in June, July or August should accompany your entry.
