As France prepares to host the UEFA European Championship this summer, Canford Cliffs beach will also be awash with football activity. The two permanent goals have an exciting programme of events planned that all can get involved with.
Starting in June, soccer leagues will take place for under 10s and under 18s on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. South Coast Football will run tournaments on 28-29 May and 4-5 June, in addition to holiday camps on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 27 July until 26 August. Visit www.southcoastfootball.co.uk.
For adults, the Poole Beach Soccer League will take place on eight Wednesday evenings throughout June and July. Contact teams@bournemouthbeachsoccer.com to register a team. Dorset FA’s popular annual Beach Soccer Cup is set to return on Sunday 12 June and is now open for adult male and female teams to enter. Apply online at http://www.dorsetfa.com/players/beach-soccer.
The British Beach Handball Championship will take place on 5-7 August, followed by the first Poole Beach Soccer Championships on 27–28 August, providing the perfect chance to watch some fierce competitors battle it out on the beach. Visit http://britishbeachhandballchamps.com/index.html.
On 23 August, ACF Bournemouth Community Sports Trust will host a one day festival for the Kicks groups for those aged 14 and over.
Touch Beach Rugby, the first event of its kind in Poole, will take place on 3–4 September to showcase a range of new skills and sport on our beaches. The event also offers the chance for spectators to get involved and have a go! Visit http://www.britishbeachtouchchamps.com/.
