TEDS Toy Exchange & Donate Scheme is a unique social enterprise operating in Ringwood. The scheme started in 2009 with two mums wishing to have access to baby and children’s nearly new items that were good quality, easy to shop for and all in one place. Holding their first sale in Greyfriars in 2009, the scheme has now grown to fill warehouse auction rooms with over 14000 baby and children’s items from maternity wear through to teen games. Items are donated to TEDS or exchanged for money-off vouchers.
TEDS has championed local charities, schools, playgroups and children’s charitable causes in the last three years and have raised over £2500 to this end plus helped hospitals, hospices & health visitors with emergency clothes and toys, plus supported local schools and playgroups.
Inside the temporary premises, TEDS offers a free playroom area, a place to feed baby and change a nappy. There is a free kitchen for hot and cold drinks and biscuits. There is a meeting room which can be used for counselling, reiki, homeopathy consultations, discussion groups and more. As a Community Hub, TEDS want parents, carers, child-minders and grandparents to feel they can come in and relax, find information, meet with friends, share and air problems, buy top quality items and let children play! TEDS offer parenting courses, fun cake decorating, yoga sessions with mum and baby, music sessions and arts and crafts.
