Police in Ferndown are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a fail to stop road traffic collision.
The incident happened at around 10am on Friday 30 August 2013 near the junction of West Moors Road and Horton Road.
The victim, a 24-year-old Wimborne man, was cycling on his BMX when he was in collision with a grey Vauxhall Astra.
The impact caused the rider to fall off his bicycle, and the driver of the offending vehicle failed to stop at the scene.
Police Constable Dave Hassell, of Ferndown police, said: “I am appealing for anyone with information about this incident to contact Dorset Police urgently.
“We believe the offending vehicle was being driven by a woman aged between 50 and 60.
“I am confident they will undoubtedly be aware a collision occurred at the scene before they drove off and I would urge them to do the right thing and speak with the police.
“This is a busy junction and I believe someone will have seen what happened, or may have more details regarding the car or driver involved.
“The victim has suffered a possible fracture to his ankle as well as cuts and bruises. Significant damage has also been caused to his bicycle.
“Anyone with information is urged to call 101 in confidence.”
