Jade Clark’s family appealed for public help in finding the Volvo XC90 that collided with their daughter’s moped on the A31 on 24 February 2013. The Ringwood teenager died at the scene. She was travelling on the westbound carriageway near Ashley Heath roundabout at around 8.20pm when the accident happened.
Jade’s mum Sharon Clark said, “From the moment we were given this awful news, the family have been devastated. Jade was such a loving girl. Losing her has left a hole in our hearts and our lives that we will never fill.”
Senior Investigating Officer, Traffic Inspector Matt Butler said Jade was travelling along the A31 when her moped was struck from behind by a Volvo XC90, which failed to stop. He pointed out that the police do not know the colour of the Volvo and that silver was media speculation. He said, “Our investigation focuses across the entire south coast and into London. I need to trace the Volvo and urge anyone with information to contact me.”
He appealed to any witnesses, or anyone seeing a Volvo XC90 with damage to the front to contact the police on 01202 222222 or through the anonymous Crimestoppers line 0800 555111 where mobile tariffs may apply. Crimestoppers has offered a reward of up to £1000 for information leading to the arrest and charge of an offender.
