Family homes in Bournemouth built on site of garages
The three homes in Barrow Drive, Strouden Park, which have sustainable features, are due to be completed by 1 March.
Families will soon be able to move into three new modern family homes in Strouden Park in Bournemouth.
The site in Barrow Drive was formerly occupied by 21 garages.
The three good sized new council homes all have two bedrooms, gardens and parking spaces. They incorporate sustainable features including increased thermal efficiency, solar panels, a sun pipe to enhance natural daylight and triple glazing.
Building and development works are due to be completed on 1 March.
Cllr Robert Lawton, BCP Council’s portfolio holder for homes said, “Thank you to our teams across BCP Council who have worked hard to get this project completed in order to provide these three comfortable and efficient new Council houses.”
As part of BCP Council’s vision for the future, the authority is aiming to deliver more than 15,000 new homes for people of all incomes – both through its own civic investment and by supporting and enabling developers to build homes, with a sustainable mix of affordable and high-end apartments and houses.
