Residents and visitors of Poole are invited to a family fun day, which celebrates everything that’s wild about the local environment, with The Great Heath’s road show-style event, Wild About Poole, on 23 July at Poole Harbour Baiter, Harbourside Park, Catalina Drive, BH15 ITQ.
The free family wildlife fun day starts at 10am till 4pm and has activities for all ages including face painting, crafts and guided walks beside Poole Harbour. There will also be owls, mini-beasts, wild bingo with the RSPB and much more.
The Great Heath Team will also be giving away FREE wildlife friendly garden plaques to those who come and show them photos of the wildlife friendly features in their garden. Winners are asked to proudly display their plaque in their garden in recognition of their efforts to help wildlife.
Dorset Wildlife Trust’s Great Heath Learning and Interpretation Officer, Nicky Hoar, said, “This is a great event for everyone to get involved with – bring your bikes, bring your dog, everyone is welcome!”
This event is being run by Borough of Poole and partners in The Great Heath.
